We are pleased to announce the repeated success of current and former students at the annual exhibitions of the BP Portrait Award, the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the Society of Women Artists. The following portraits have been painted entirely from life, to the scale of life, using the sight‑size method.
Art Renewal Center’s 21st ARC Scholarship Competition
Congratulations to Chantal Boso who has been awarded Second Prize in the Art Renewal Center’s 21st ARC Scholarship Competition.
The award will enable Chantal to continue her studies at the Charles H. Cecil Studios in advanced portrait painting from life, to the scale of life in the sight-size tradition.
Royal Society of Portrait Painters 2021
This year’s RP show at The Mall Galleries featured a number of succesful submissions from alumni, faculty and current students. Various prizes were awarded to alumni including Frances Bell RP who received the new William Lock Portrait Prize “for the most timeless portrait with a real feeling for paint and its aesthetic potential” and Rupert Alexander who received The Burke’s Peerage Foundation Award for Classically Inspired Portraiture.
